ESTANCIA SANTA ISABEL
YOUR STAY AT THE ESTATE
Since its foundation in 1888, Estancia Santa Isabel has earned its reputation as a notable agricultural and cattle breeding establishment, while also reinventing itself on many occasions in search of new frontiers and possibilities. In 2009 it pioneered Argentina’s first South Atlantic Ocean wines as a daring experiment. Today, with over 60 acres of vines planted on the gentle slopes of Chapadmalal, it has become the vinous face of a new wine region emerging on the country’s coast. Costa & Pampa, the local winery, offers daily tours and wine tastings to visitors. Since 2018 we have been running a stable currently breeding over fifty Thoroughbred racehorses. Our most recent venture is Jōji, an Asian tapas restaurant that will complement the high quality of local fish along with our white wines, the house specialty.
CHAPADMALAL
A SURF TOWN SOUTH
OF MAR DEL PLATA
Surf, horseback ride, cookout, taste wine, party, golf, sail, fish, and tango all in one place – that’s the charm of Chapadmalal, a seaside resort located south of Mar del Plata. Here, the Atlantic Ocean and the Humid Pampas meet along sixty-foot high, eighteen-mile long sea cliffs that form the edges of the Tandilia mountain range, one of the oldest geological formations on the planet. On one side of the cliffs, you’ll find sandy beaches, seashells, waves, and surfers; on the other, lush pastures, horses, cattle, gauchos, and countryside charm. This unique combination of rural and coastal living has made Chapadmalal the trendiest summer destination in Argentina.
Today, Chapadmalal enthralls both locals and international travelers with its pristine beaches, flourishing vineyards, and aristocratic estates, earning it the nickname of the “Argentine California”. However, long before its popularity as a tourist destination, it was a frontier settlement that witnessed fierce disputes between indigenous peoples and European colonists. Starting around 1850 it developed into a model farm during the golden age of Argentina’s agricultural and livestock industry. In 1947, during the government of Juan Domingo Perón, Chapadmalal was selected as the site for constructing the presidential villa, serving as a summer retreat and evolving into a hub for beachfront resorts.
TRAPICHE COSTA & PAMPA
EXCLUSIVE WINERY
NEAR THE COAST
Located near the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, Trapiche Costa & Pampa is an experimental winery that is pioneering the creation of Argentine wines in a unique maritime climate. This oceanic influence, the use of natural rainfall instead of irrigation, and the fertility of the pampas provide ideal conditions for producing a variety of rich grapes that reflect the generosity of the land and the freshness of the sea. Combined in perfect harmony, they captivate the most demanding palates and seekers of new adventures.
Trapiche Costa & Pampa produces a range of exclusive varietals, including:
- Sauvignon Blanc, with delicate fresh and citrus notes of grapefruit and passion fruit;
- Riesling, noted for its fresh floral and typical mineral hints;
- Gewürztraminer, a new variety for Argentina that highlights the citrus and spicy notes of this aromatic wine typical of Germany;
- Pinot Noir, the most challenging varietal from an enological point of view due to its delicacy and complexity;
- Chardonnay, in which fresh and mineral hints can be appreciated, as well as its delicate complexity resulting from aging in French oak barrels;
- Extra Brut, a sparkling wine made under the champenoise method, with hints of green apples and toasted bread aromas;
- Brut Rosé, also a sparkling wine made under the champenoise method, with a predominance of red fruits and toasted aromas;
- Pinot Grigio, a very fresh wine with citrus notes, predominantly lime and lemon; and
- Albariño, which presents a greenish color, with aromas of stone fruits such as white peach and apricot, and floral notes.
Our wines have earned recognition from renowned wine critics, including British Master of Wine Tim Atkin, who awarded our 2021 and 2022 harvests of Albariño with 95 points, praising them as “the best Albariño in Argentina”. We welcome visitors to our winery for tours and wine tastings, where you can experience the unique flavors and aromas of our exceptional wines.

Jōji
ASIAN TAPAS
RESTAURANT
In honor of the late proprietor of Estancia Santa Isabel, Jorge Estrada Mora, who purchased the estate in 1996 and passed away in 2015, Jōji was created to harmonize his love for fine dining with the wines he created. The vision that led to the first Atlantic Ocean-inspired wines in Argentina is now complemented with a cuisine based on the products of the same coast.
The mixture of water and earth, wine and oriental food, is at the heart of our search for the perfect combination. As our logo portrays, there is a balance between different elements: the swaying of the sea is reflected in the folds of the earth. Jōji seeks to bring full circle the connection between the wines of Costa & Pampa and the ocean that makes these wines so complex.”
